The field of automobiles is one of the fast developing fields of present era. Day by day a lot of modifications in the technology are being introduced. Automotive equipments like Jeeps, Cars, Truck, Vans, two wheelers, three wheelers etc. are used everywhere in domestic, commercial and industrial fields. Production of automobiles and their service centres, research & educational institutes need a high number of skilled technicians. In J.K.I.T.C. a one year craftsman training program in mechanic diesel is conducted as per DGET norms. During this period a trainee learns about all types of automobile vehicles, their construction details and working of their parts. A trainee also complete practice to overhaul and maintain different types of vehicles under proper supervision and guidance of qualified
and experienced instructors and technicians.

The mechanic motor vehicle workshop with adequate area and sufficient uncovered area and sufficient uncovered floor having all types of serving and measuring tools, a jeep. From axle assembly, different types of engine including MPFI engine, different cut models of engines, lift, riveting m/s, arbor press, compressors, spark plug cleaning machine, exhaust gas analyzer, valve timing light, torque wrench, ring compressor, valve lifter, compression gauge, wheel alignment gauge and many more.

After successful completion of the training a trainee may join Govt. public or Private sectors, This training is also beneficial in getting self employment. Otherwise the option to obtain higher education like diploma engineering is also open for the, as per the government rule.
