It is the broadest discipline among all the engineering traders deals with all types of mechanical processes, equipments & their maintenance. It is concerned with all types of machinery in industries and all aspects of their mechanism and functioning, construction, production, installation, operation and maintenance. In any industry from its installation to post production . Several types of machineries & mechanical processes are used & all these need a skilled technician who can operate & maintain the machineries or tools for uninterrupted process. A fitter in industry not only creates the products, but also maintains the machineries used in production process. So a huge demand of fitter technicians is always in industries.

During the two years curriculum at JKITC a trainee learns about all types of mechanical processes, tools, equipments & machineries including their maintenance. The fitter shop at JKITC has all types of common hand tools & equipments, lathe machines, welding set ups, drilling, plumbing & forging equipments. The training methodology is completely focused upon the safe work practice & over all development of the trainees.
They are also provided advance training on CNC MILLING & CNC LATHE so that after training they can find comfortable against present modern industries.

After completion, a trainee can join any industry having a job like steel fabrication, machine operation, machine maintenance, plumbing, forging etc. or he can start his own workshop also.
